Another blog gave post that documented the Aqara rolle share driver E1 got me inspired to get this device. They are very similar products, but for a couple of reasons I the Moes one:
It was cheaper at the time
It was powered by 8.4V supply, while providing the same torque (about .45Nm), making me conclude it would draw less current
I can’t even find them on Ali Express right now anymore.
Both inspired, and helped by the blog post, I decided to put some disassembly pictures online to help future hackers decide if this product is right for them. I will most likely use this product in a different way than was designed. So let’s go.
The box it came in. Somewhat white-labled as AM43 Blinds DriverThe contents of the box: 8.4v power supply, some mounting screws and a self-adhesive strip. 4 heads to pull the blind cord (the 4th is mounted inside). The main unit and a little solar panel that charges (?) and detects sun.Main unit, self-adhesive and solar panelThe 4 headsThe bottom of the main unit (the white set-button is missing), providing a barrel jack for the power supply and a headphone-type jack for the solar panel. The included power supply. The read – 4 screws keeping the box together that I’ve taken out alreadyThe main unit, with the cover plate off. You can clearly see the moon-shaped axle from the motor-gear box.The main unit disassembled (I took the PCB out before. It’s attached with 1 screw and 4 very tight plastic clips). The included Li-Po battery. The device works without it plugged in as well. If you permanently want to power the main unit, it would work without the battery connected. The motor with gearbox with number S29Z370-135-7.550 3Z232. I found a manufacturer in china with this exact label, so i assume they produced it. trying to get a bit more info. So far it seems motor is only rated for 7.5VPCB front – powered by the Tuya ZS3L modulePCB back
